Are you looking for professional editing services? We bring our 30+ years of experience to every project and can help you hone your manuscript for publication. We work with everyone from indie authors to traditional publishers and offer a full suite of editorial services.
Our rates are based on the Editorial Freelancers Association averages and charge by the word. Prior to engaging in any editorial services, we offer a complimentary 1000-word sample edit.
Based on your sample edit and how much work we estimate the manuscript will be, we’ll give you a quote in the following ranges:
Developmental edit: $.04-$.08/word
Copy edit: $.02-$.03/word
Proofread: $.012-$.02/word
Sensitivity read: $.012-$.02/word
Beta read: $.012-$.24/word
Book coaching: $100/half hour session
Ben is available for developmental edits and book coaching. As a former literary agent who represented multiple bestselling and award-winning titles, such as the 2025 Printz Award-winner, Brownstone, Ben’s unique approach has helped dozens of authors reach their publication goals. Ben’s coaching services are specifically targeted to your needs and current focus areas. His number one goal as a coach is to help you figure out how to achieve what you want to do, whether that's finishing a manuscript, writing a compelling action scene, creating realistic characters, building in-depth worlds, and more.
Copy edits, proofreads, and sensitivity reads are performed by Lauren. As a production editor for Big 5 publishers, Lauren has worked on hundreds of published books and helped them reach bookshelves as the best versions of themselves. She has also worked as a corporate DEI facilitator.
